Current diagnosis and management of carpal tunnel syndrome: A review

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a condition when median nerve, located in the carpal tunnel, being suppressed by surrounding structure. In 1854, first clinical narration of nerve compression was found. CTS causes pain, tingling, and weakness half ring finger, middle index thumb. These complaints lead patients to seek medical help visiting doctor. has become major cause upper extremity chronic neuropathic pain. affects women 3.6 times more than men. This would high costs treatment, rehabilitation, work hours lost compensation, initial pension costs, new worker training. makes as problem field employment. occurs result repetitive forceful other risk factors such sex, age, heredity, hormonal, weight. Knowledge diagnosis comprehensive management are important Recent based on newest guidelines for clinician knowledge update. Correct will appropriate recent guidelines, which turn improve quality life with CTS. article comprehensively discuss management.
